In 10 years a lot of jobs that students are going to college and university for are going to be obsolete. It’s not that they won’t exist exactly, it’s more like the positions won’t be filled by humans and that’s the problem. The future is supposed to be bright and school is supposed to make life easier for the future but in reality the future looks like it’ll be harder for everyone.
You work hard to study math to eventually make games and software but already, there are AI programs that are making games back to back that some people actually think are good and in 10 years I feel as though the gaming industry will be overrun by them.
For example, I went to school for creative writing. There are some very talented authors out there and some get overlooked because there are dishonest people telling a prompt into AI and it writes a whole 30 chapter book within a few days and there are people who think that garbage is actually good. I get discouraged that I will never find my dream job.
Although there are also plenty of subjects out there that we are being taught in schools, like history, law, or medicine, I think those are the only jobs that AI can’t attack. You can’t teach a robot to teach things from the past better than a human. Robots can’t express emotions so they would not make very good lawyers or doctors. But I think those are the only jobs that will be safe.
To be fair though, I think the only job that would be better done by a robot is politics. Robot politicians would be a lot more logical than humans, especially the ones running the world now. But other than that the future seems to be jobless and that is a very scary thing.
I think that schools should teach about things that will be safe against it, jobs that take creativity because in the future you’ll need experience so they need to get experience now so in the future they can get jobs. Because you can’t get experience without experience.
