For the fourth time in six years, the Houston Astros have won a World Series pennant.
The Astros finished their aggressive ALCS sweep of the New York Yankees on Sunday night (Oct. 23) at Yankee Stadium to a final score of HOU 6, NYY 5. In an almost fated cycle of encounters, it is the third time in the last six years and the fourth time in the last eight years the Astros have ousted the Yankees in the postseason.
Following the longest losing streak in a single season in the Los Angeles Angles history, they have changed managers. Joe Maddon who had worked with the Angels organization for over 30 years in various positions. The team’s third base coach, Phil Nevlin, will be the interim manager for the rest of this season.
The Los Angeles Dodgers haven’t won a World Series in 32 years, and it doesn’t look like this will be the year they do. The Dodgers were the best team in the regular season, going 43-17. This is something that they’re no stranger to; but when the postseason comes around, their biggest stars disappear.
