Trump VS Pope

In recent news, the White House is currently under fire due to a recent image released by President Trump on social media. Displaying himself over a sick man in need, the controversial image depicts President Trump as a ‘holy’ and ‘righteous’ figure that bears a strong resemblance to Jesus Christ.  Or rather, the image simply depicts President Trump as Jesus Christ.

And let’s just say people have some choice words for the president following the recent image posted to social media. While many people have been vocal in sharing their views and distaste towards the image, one voice stands apart from the crowd: Pope Leo XIV.

Following the recent controversial image, Pope Leo has vocalized his thoughts and opinions to many news outlets.  According to the BBC, Pope Leo said he possess “no fear” towards Trump’s administration and will not be intimidated in speaking out.  With the ongoing war conflict with Iran, Pope Leo has confirmed that he intends to stand tall and serve as a voice and symbol for peace and love, something Trump’s administration is not doing.

And I must agree with the pope. With the rising conflict with the conflict with Iran and the many issues prevalent in our country, do ai generated images really seem to be helping anyone? And why did the president decide to depict himself as Jesus Christ? While Trump has denied that he intended to appear as a religious figure, I am not sure I believe that. Take one look at the image, and you won’t be able to deny how reminiscent it is of Jesus Christ.

While the pope has “no fear”, I am not sure I can express the same confidence for the future of America.
