Stella Nina McCartney is an English fashion designer. Born in London, England, McCartney traveled a lot as a child due to her being the daughter of Beatles member Paul McCartney. She and her siblings were given as ordinary a life as possible.

McCartney grew interested in fashion and design during her early teens, landing her first internship with Christian Lacroix three years later. There she worked on her first haute couture collection and also worked with her father’s tailor, Edward Sexton, for several years.

She studied at Ravensbourne University London and then Central Saint Martins for fashion, where her first fashion collection was modeled at her college’s runway show by friends and now model industry veterans Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon, and Kate Moss.

McCartney’s first significant role came in 2001, when she was named creative director of Chloé. In that same year, she launched her eponymous fashion house with Kering, launching her first perfume two years later. In 2007, she launched her skincare line CARE, and a few years later, she launched a lingerie line and a kids collection.

In 2018, McCartney was able to get full control of her fashion house before entering a strategic partnership with LVMH. She would regain full control in 2025. McCartney has had numerous collaborations, designing the wedding-reception dress of Meghan Markle. McCartney has also collaborated with Adidas, Disney, Taylor Swift, and more.
