The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced their nominees for the 2022 induction just yesterday. The official nominees include: Beck, Pat Benatar, Kate Bush, DEVO, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Fela Kuti, MC5, New York Dolls, Dolly Parton, Rage Against the Machine, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, A Tribe Called Quest, and Dionne Warwick. To be eligible for these nominations, each of these artists have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to this nomination.

A few months before I downloaded the TikTok app, I was driving to school with a few of my friends and ‘Make You Mine’ by PUBLIC came on the radio. Almost instantly, my friend asked to change the station because she was sick of hearing “TikTok songs.” I didn’t think much of the comment at the time, but after I downloaded the app at the beginning of the pandemic, I began to understand what she meant.
