239 Homeless Camps Cleared in NYC

With Mayer Eric Adams’s attempt to make New York City safe for their residents and tourists, the city has gone into action in clearing homeless encampments and placing homeless people into shelters. New Yorkers have mixed feelings about this initiative because there is still danger with muggling and robberies every day. Sanitation workers and the police have cleared out 239 homeless camps in under two weeks, but only five people agreed to go to homeless shelters.
