On Wednesday, Nury Martinez left her seat on the Los Angeles City Council due to yet another sign of the disaster that has happened because of leaked audio of a racist and cruel conversation involving Latino political leaders. Martinez wrote a lengthy resignation message: “It is with a broken heart that I resign my seat for Council District 6, the community I grew up in and my home.”
