Upcoming Marvel TV Shows in MCU Phase 5

Since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. began premiering in 2012 as the first Marvel TV series, there have now been 21 different shows produced by Marvel Television and Marvel Studios. With programs on ABC, Netflix, Hulu, Freeform, and most recently Disney+, the MCU has been seriously expanding their universe away from solely movies, and creating spinoff shows with secondary characters as well as some new ones. The release of Wandavision in 2021 was the first series that incorporated a character that also integrated into the mainstream Marvel multiverse, with some of the Disney+ Marvel series now being considered as part of the “phase” rollouts that the MCU is known for.

As Phase 4 comes to an end, new miniseries information has been shared with the public regarding Phase 5 and 6, with “Secret Invasion” starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendolsohn as Talos set to release in the spring of 2023, described as “a conspiracy thriller where Skrulls have infiltrated Earth at the highest levels.” While the summer of 2023 may be a year away at this point, Marvel fans will have a lot to look forward to with the confirmed drop of Loki season 2, starring Tom Hiddleston, as well as a Hawkeye spinoff series called Echo, with both airing on Disney+. And as 2023 comes to a close, a new animated series called Ironheart is releasing, detailing “a young engineering student who makes a super iron suit much like Iron Man,” followed by another new show, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, exploring the journey of Wandavison character Agatha Harkness. To conclude the variety of miniseries premiering within Phase 5, the spring of 2024 will include the long-awaited next installment of the Daredevil series called “Daredevil Born Again,” obviously starring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Daredevil and Kingpin.

While the MCU has provided new insight into movies airing as part of Phase 6 in late 2024 and 2025, there is so much to look forward to in the realm of Marvel Disney+ series over the course of the next two years, so keep your eye out for specific release dates as filming continues and excitement grows.
