Kevin Durant To Stay With Nets After Months Of Trade Negotiations

In late June, NBA All-Star Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, a team that he has only been a part of since last year. Considering that Durant is currently one of the best basketball players in the league, teams were naturally eager to swipe him from the Nets, with the Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns being two notable teams offering hefty contracts to KD. However, a couple days ago the Brooklyn Nets tweeted a statement that shut down all trade speculation that has been going on for months now, saying “[Head Coach] Steve Nash and I [General Manager Steve Marks], together with [owners] Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai, met with Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman in Los Angeles yesterday. We have agreed to move forward with our partnership. We are focusing on basketball, with one collective goal in mind: build a lasting franchise to bring a championship to Brooklyn”

Kevin Durant scored an amazing 41 points for the Nets, who surpassed the Pistons with their scoring of 130-123. Durant shares, “I want to get better shots sometimes, but like a couple of them are like, ‘I’m hot, let me risk it. I was just trying to get the best shots that I can. Sometimes it might be over a guy in the lane, but I feel like that’s open and I have to keep knocking them down.”

Is Thibodeau Setting the Knicks for Failure?

Is Thibodeau Setting the Knicks for Failure?

With the past 16 games that the Knicks went through, they have been set as 3-13. The Wednesday game is a memory the Knicks may want to forget because they were behind by 28 points. It was an impressive win for the Nets on that Wednesday game because they played without Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons who are the star players of the Nets team. In the previous months, the Knicks originally had a good score of 9-0, but Thibodeau’s leadership may have some mixed feelings on how the Knicks performed in February.
