With the US gubernatorial elections coming up in a few months on November 8, 2022, in 36 states and three territories, the recent Supreme Court overturning of Roe v. Wade has altered the agendas of those running for governor, specifically in states where abortion is now banned. Considering that abortion laws are now a state-by-state issue, the power that a governor holds is now more prevalent than ever, and residents of swing states such as Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin have vocalized the importance that Democratic governors either stay in power or are elected this fall.
