Sebastian Kurz has announced his resignation from the ÖVP (centre-right People’s party) after a corruption scandal forced him to also resign as Austrian Chancellor in October. Kurz states he no longer has any interest in politics and will now focus his efforts on his family and being a new father. He has been replaced as Chancellor by Alexander Schallenberg.
