This past Sunday, we witnessed one of the worst defeats in NBA history. In the early afternoon game, the Los Angeles Clippers took on the Dallas Mavericks in LA. The Mavericks won 124-73, a 51-point loss. While the Clippers are a team with high expectations, they were without their best player Kawhi Leonard who suffered a mouth laceration on Christmas Day.

McConnell blocks senate vote on increasing stimulus
Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky blocked the immediate vote on an increase in stimulus payments that were a part of the COVID relief bill passed earlier this month.
U.S House of Representatives voted in favor of increasing the stimulus payment to eligible Americans from $600 to $2,000 dollars Monday evening.
Pierre Cardin Dies at 98
French fashion designer Pierre Cardin died Tuesday at age 98. He died at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine outside of Paris. His death was announced to the Agence France-Press by his family with several statements mourning his passing issued by the French Academie des Beaux-Arts.

The passing of Hall of Famer Phil Niekro brought back memories of this great human being. It was 1995 when I came across him outside of Shea Stadium. By then he was the manager of the female baseball team, the Colorado Silver Bullets, and there he was walking with his baseball players. I talked trash with him of how I could strike out all of them and he just laughed it off.
