Since the start of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic and the closure of movie theaters across the country it seems like new movies have all been bad. Personally, the only new movies I have enjoyed which were released this past year were Everything Everywhere All At Once and Nope.
The French-Swiss film director, Jean Luc-Godard offers one explanation, “every film is the result of the society that produced it. That’s why the American cinema is so bad now. It reflects an unhealthy society.”
