Al Downing played with and against some of the greatest baseball players of all time.
While with the Yankees in the 60s he played with Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra and the 1964 most valuable player Elston Howard. In 1969 he played with a chubby catcher who would go on to have a hall of fame type career.

Thank you Henry Louis Aaron
Hank Aaron made me a better human being. Watching him go through his home run chase in 1973, and having the excitement of witnessing history soon after, are one of the best parts of my life. Then there are the other parts, the haters. When Mr. Aaron shared his mail with the world, it was as chilling as the penmanship.
Fashion at the Inauguration
While Joe Biden’s inauguration was scaled back due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the audience used the small numbers to focus on the fashion debuted at the event. During and after the ceremony, many took to social media to discuss the fashion choices.
Thurman Would’ve Loved Gio
Today I got to talk with sportscaster and radio disc jockey legend Ricky Ricardo about his interview with Gio Urshela, who has been chosen to receive a humanitarian award during the Thurman Munson award ceremony.
Ricky was given the assignment of doing the virtual thing that all these award ceremonies are doing.

Don’t Tell the Ending
I’d let you stay at my place if I don’t have to be there with you.
When I’m into another person, I get the feeling of wow! But I get that same feeling with a doobie and a Hendrix album.
When I hang out, it’s mainly with the people in my head. They have wonderful stories to tell. Curious little tales with twist endings. Never see it coming. Perhaps you’d like to hear one.
Come in.
Don’t mind the people there, don’t stare, bring refreshments.
A story is about to being.
Quiet!
Phone off.
Don’t tell your friends the ending.
Don’t Bother
I went the extra mile, no reason except curiosity. If you’re thinking of doing the same don’t bother; it ain’t worth it.
To help others, I made this sign and placed it where anyone about to travel the mile could see it.
WELCOME TO THE EXTRA MILE
Home to no restaurants, no gas stations, no stores, schools, or hospitals. No traffic lights, theaters, and not a living soul. It’s like an unfurnished apartment in the middle of nowhere. The souvenir shop is a bit pricy.
At the end of the mile, I placed another sign:
Drive carefully.
Enjoy your stay.
