In what seems to have been a climate protest, the of the most recognisable faces in the world was smothered in cake on Sunday, when a man who posed as an elderly woman smeared the dessert on the Mona Lisa.
The masterpiece created by Leonardo da Vinci in the 16th century was left untouched due to it being protected behind bulletproof glass in the Louvre museum in Paris, France.
