Yesterday, approximately 140,000 Parisians demonstrated in the streets of Paris in protest of the surging cost of living and the government’s lack of action to address the climate crisis. The protests were over three times larger than originally expected with a police estimate of 40,000 protesters and were organized by France’s leftist political party France Unbowed. This protest comes after weeks of strikes in the public energy sector and will be followed by scheduled strikes in the transport sector.
