There has been a recent surge in egg prices all around the country. In 2022 there was a massive outbreak of Avian Flu which caused around 58 million egg-laying chickens to be put to rest. On top of the flu outbreak, there are types of chicken feed being sold that do not contain enough nutrients for the chickens to lay eggs. These issues combined have diminished the number of eggs available at most grocery stores and caused more people to start raising their own chickens.
