Jail Time Records is a non-profit record label started by 33-year-old former inmate Steve Happi in 2019 alongside Italian artist, Dione Roach. The project quickly offered escape from the harsh conditions of one of Cameroon’s most crowded prisons, as well as a creative outlet for talented and motivated artists. In December of 2021, Happi opened a second studio outside of the prison, as on option for former inmates who do not wish to return to the prison.
