For the #BodyPositive movement to be successful, thin women need to stop co-opting the movement

Over the last few months, I’ve had an interesting ride with the social media app TikTok. While
it’s been fun to post my personal workouts in my feeble attempts of reaching TikTok fame, I’ve
also found myself in the ‘body positive movement’ algorithm of the app. Now, like many other
men and women, I’ve had my fair share of time spent growing up uncomfortable in my skin.
However, watching the body positive movement get co-opted my much slimmer, white women
over the past few months has been nothing short of irritating yet completely predictable.
