The city’s two Republican mayoral candidates, Fernando Mateo and Curtis Sliwa, squared off again Thursday night after a tense debate in which they exchanged insults and allegations. And despite the fight Mateo put up, Sliwa came out on top. The best way to describe him in this debate is elegant.
