Two Years Later, Biden Still Addresses His Unsupport of Defunding the Police
Despite repeated claims over the last two years made by the right and portions of the left, that President Biden and the Democratic party favor the idea of “defunding the police,” both Biden and Nancy Pelosi have recently made statements rejecting this idea. Biden was careful to choose how to discuss the movement for police reform during his campaign for his presidency, however, statements concerning his support funding community programs to alleviate that pressure from police departments, were often misconstrued and minimized as support for defunding police budgets.
Climate Change Remains Invisible in the State of the Union
Climate change is like a child who was forgotten in the car when the parents go out to eat for an evening meal. The crisis in Ukraine is strongly presented in the discussion of politics. War contributes a lot to climate change and yet the war on healing global warming barely scratched the surface of the recent State of the Union. President Biden stated that he would drive the United States to climate change purposes, but it was not mentioned in the State of the Union.
Yellow and Blue Highlighted at the State of the Union
Yellow and blue painted hope for the State of the Union to support Ukraine afar in their battle against Russian forces. For many years, the State of the Union address served as a platform for presidents to discuss about their future plans for the United States in regards to economics, politics, and other topics. Now, it has opened up its stage for colored outfits that share its support overseas. This was not the only year when congress people dressed according to political times.
