Earthquakes in Syria and Turkey: What We Know So Far

An earthquake of magnitude 7.8 rattled Turkey and Syria early Monday morning. A few hours later, another earthquake of magnitude 7.7 struck the region. Nearly 5,000 people have been killed and more than 6,600 buildings have been destroyed as a result of the quakes. The freezing temperatures are now posing a threat to the homeless survivors.
