Spears took to Instagram on Monday to share several screenshots of text messages she sent her mother, Lynne Spears, as well as s friends and a lawyer after she was reportedly forced to enter a mental health facility in the year 2019.

On Tuesday, it was announced Jamie Spears, father and conservator to Britney Spears, had filed a petition to end said conservatorship. Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, spoke of the petition as “vindication,” but that stepping down alone would not be enough. Rosengart stated, “It appears Mr. Spears believes he can try to avoid accountability and justice, including sitting for a sworn deposition and answering other discoveries under oath.”
