When the price of gas nationwide is consistently over $5, from California to Connecticut, any small decrease in price can make a difference on the weight of your wallet. As of late June, gas prices are officially at a three week decline, with the average price per gallon dipping below $5 for the first time in months. While the average cost to fill your tank a year ago would only run you $3.11 per gallon, the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has tremendously decreased the amount of gas imported into the U.S. due to the Russian crude oil ban.
