Since March 2020, the US has been constantly extending the US public health emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and now President Joe Biden has stated his hopes to also call for a health emergency nationwide regarding the overturning of Roe v. Wade. While Biden does not have the authority to change the Supreme Court ruling, he has been discussing his options within his administration to declare the banning of abortions in over half the country as a public health emergency.
