A week after Tyre Nichols’ funeral, President Biden hosted the parents of Nichols during the State of the Union address. After speaking with Nichols’ mother, the president promised to fulfill her wish for her son’s legacy. In addition, he urged police departments to hold officers accountable. Nichols, a 29-year-old father of a 4-year-old boy, was killed by Memphis police officers during a traffic stop on January 7.
