Incredible news has emerged for all artists signed with Warner Music Group, as well as fans who want nothing more than to support them— the record label has signed an agreement with the streaming service Soundcloud to now include singers signed under their label to receive “fan-powered royalties,” increasing the amount of revenue that they can ultimately make. Soundcloud developed this method of payment only a year ago, stating the ultimate appeal that “you get paid based on your fans’ actual listening habits. The more of their time your dedicated fans listen to your music, the more you get paid. This model benefits independent artists.”
