The decline of black girl groups has been gruesome, to say the least. However, there are signs of change in the music industry once again. Inspired by 3LW, SWV, and Destiny’s Child, the new up-and-coming black girl group FLO, has gained vast and widespread success and popularity with their infamous and nostalgic three-part harmony that echoes that of their 90s and 2000s predecessors. The London-based group of women—Renée Downer, Jorja Douglas, and Stella Quaresma—are armed to usher the revival.
