A CSX freight train is the latest in a series of train derailments. Wednesday morning, the empty coal train was derailed as the result of an apparent rock slide, which left sizable boulders on the train tracks. The derailment took place in Sandstone, West Virginia, an unincorporated rural area near New River.

A West Virginia woman has awoken from a two-year long coma after being ruthlessly attacked and identified her brother as the attacker, according to police reports. Since June of 2020, Wanda Palmer has been in a long term facility in New Martinsville, West Virginia. Jackson County police said that Palmer was “attacked, hacked, and left for dead.” Palmer, 51, has since woken up from her coma, and accused her brother of attacking her at her residence near Cottageville, West Virginia.
