Broncos Super Bowl 50 Champion Ronnie Hillman Dies at Age 31

Super Bowl winner Ronnie Hillman has died of cancer at the age of 31, his family announced Thursday. After being drafted in 2012, running back Hillman was the Denver Broncos’ leading rusher during the 2015 season in which they were crowned Super Bowl 50 champions. He was diagnosed with a rare kidney cancer – renal medullary carcinoma – in August, but passed away on Wednesday. Hillman’s family wrote on Instagram that the former running back “quietly and peacefully transitioned today in the company of his family and close friends.”

A controversial Texas abortion law that was modeled after a California gun law and was meant to incite a legal dispute has been overturned by a federal judge. Brittney Griner is finally home. On Wednesday, she posted an open letter thanking fans for their support and urging them to write to Paul Whelan, an American detained in Russia. “Your letters were also bigger than uplifting me,” Griner said in a handwritten letter, which she posted to Instagram. “They showed me the power of collective hands.” “Thanks to the efforts of so many, including you, I am home after nearly 10 months,” she wrote. Griner said that words of hope from fans has kept her spirits up, helping “me not to lose hope at a time where I was full of regret and vulnerable in ways I could have never imagined.”

President Biden’s plan to forgive up to $20,000 in student loan debt for 40 million Americans is in limbo. It is being blocked for months or even permanently by conservative legal challenges. However, a different program that was introduced by the Department of Education could help up to 3.6 million borrowers pay off their student debt and forgive more than 40,000 Americans’ loans.
