This week, the Biden Administration has asked the Supreme Court to extend Title 42 until after the 27th of December. Title 42, is a Trump-era policy his administration implemented during the pandemic to block over 2 million refugees on the U.S Mexico border from seeking asylum in the United States. Before this requested extension, President Joe Biden had been attempting to end the policy. In fact, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, sided with Republicans who wanted the policy to remain by temporarily blocking the Biden administration from ending Title 42.

FBI’s Latest Hate Crimes Report Missing Crucial Data from California, New York and Florida

More than 8,000 people were victims of bias-motivated incidents in 2021, according to the FBI. The crimes varied from intimidation to assault to rape and murder. The FBI on Monday released its 2021 tally of hate crimes, but the reports fall dramatically short of offering an accurate national snapshot: it excludes data from a swath of law enforcement agencies – including Los Angeles and New York. The FBI’s annual roundup of hate crime statistics was based on data from 65% of the nation’s roughly 18,800 law enforcement agencies, down from 93% in 2020.

Nassau County Detectives Association president John Wighaus said that her promotion to defund the police will further bring injustice to residents of New York and Long Island because criminals will not be given consequences for their horrendous crimes.

Trump Organization Charged with Tax Crimes

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is expected to bring criminal charges against former President Donald Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, as soon as Thursday. The Trump Organization’s legal team expects the company to be accused of tax crimes related to alleged failures to pay taxes on corporate benefits and perks, including cars, apartment buildings, and school tuition provided to its employees for several years.
