Bad Bunny to Star in Spiderman Spin-Off

Announced on Monday afternoon, Bad Bunny will play El Muerto, a supernatural superhero luchador, in a Spider-Man spinoff. Sony, the studio producing the film, announced that it is set to be released on January 12, 2024. It will be following last year’s sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage which starred Tom Hardy. Additionally, Sony also confirmed a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Too much of any good thing is a bad thing. I am a firm believer of this sentiment and right now, saying that there are a lot of comic book superhero films coming out is an understatement at this point. In a year where theaters weren’t even widely open until around March, we’ve had two big comic book films in Black Widow and the fantastic Suicide Squad that came out this month, and we still have four more movies coming out throughout the rest of the year; not to mention the Snyder cut of Justice League that was released exclusively on HBO Max as well.
