Arrests Made in Fatal Shooting of Migos Rapper Takeoff
Police arrested two people in connection with the slaying of renowned Migos rapper Takeoff, who was “an innocent bystander” when he was fatally shot last month, Houston authorities said Friday. Patrick Clark, 33, was arrested Thursday on a charge of murder, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said in a news conference. Clark was being held in jail Friday awaiting a bond hearing. Court records do not list an attorney who could for him, but indicate he was arrested as he was preparing to leave the country for Mexico.
Drake reschedules Apollo Theater show to attend Takeoff’s funeral
Grammy award winner Drake was scheduled to take the stage at Harlem’s Apollo Theater in New York City for a special show this Friday (11/11) for SiriusXM. However, after receiving the news of Takeoff’s death and how his funeral has been arranged to take place on the same date, Drake has decided to reschedule.
“The Apollo show has been moved to allow us to pay respect to our dear friend this weekend,” he wrote in an Instagram story. He’s also added a second date at the venue, and the shows now will be taking place on December 6th and 7th.
Details on Fatal Shooting of Migos Rapper, Takeoff
Takeoff, part of the platinum-selling rap group Migos, was fatally shot on Tuesday in Houston, Texas, say authorities, at the age of 28. Houston police department said they received a call of a shooting in progress at around 2:34 am. Officers then arrived at the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where there was a private party, and there happened to be a dead man at the scene. The Harris County Medical Examiners’ Office listed the manner of death as a homicide, with “penetrating gunshot wounds of head and torso into the arm” stated as his cause of death. At this time, no suspects have been arrested, authorities have said. They requested that any witnesses who left the scene come forward with additional information.
