Thom Browne to Present 2022 Fall Collection
The New York Fashion Week schedule has just lost a major name from this month’s list, though for a positive reason. Thom Browne has announced that he will be sitting out for the New York Fashion Week of February. He will now be staging his unisex 2022 fall collection in New York by the end of April. He will still, however, be including a new project for New York Fashion Week that relates to his forthcoming collection
2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees Announced
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced their nominees for the 2022 induction just yesterday. The official nominees include: Beck, Pat Benatar, Kate Bush, DEVO, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Fela Kuti, MC5, New York Dolls, Dolly Parton, Rage Against the Machine, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, A Tribe Called Quest, and Dionne Warwick. To be eligible for these nominations, each of these artists have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to this nomination.
Governor Kathy Hochul Wins Endorsements from Queens and Bronx Democrats
With the 2022 New York gubernatorial election coming up later this year, several candidates are vying for the governor position. On the Democratic side, US Representative Thomas Suozzi and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams have announced their gubernatorial candidacies. For the Republicans, US Representative Lee Zeldin of Long Island, Andrew Giuliani of the Trump administration, and Rob Astorino of Westchester County have also launched gubernatorial bids.
Nathan Chen Leads US Skaters in Olympics Team Event
As people around the world eagerly tune in during the kick off of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, three-time figure skating world champion Nathan Chen will be leading the United States team as they look forward to adding onto their previous two bronze medals. This will also be Chen’s opportunity to avenge his 2018 Olympic short program performance that had placed him in fourth place. The U.S. figure skating team has stated that among this group will include ice dancers Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue, followed by the pair of Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier on Friday.
The 2022 U.S. Alpine Olympic Skiing Team Competes for the Winter Olympics
In the wild, sheer cold, warm smiles arrive in Beijing next month for the Winter Olympics. They are the U.S. Ski Team. Put your coats and goggles on, it’s time to ski! There are a total of 34 athletes who will represent the United States for the Winter Olympics. The Alpine team consists of 11 female athletes and 7 male athletes. 15 athletes joined the Freestyle Skiing Team and 8 will be in the Freeski Team.

New York City leaders and business people are siding with Mayor Adams’s plan to tackle gun violence. Mayor Adams points out that the quality of life has deteriorated from the recent shootings in New York. It’s time to take action.
Four Men Arrested in Connection with Michael K. Williams Overdose
Four men have been arrested for alleged involvement with a drug trafficking organization that sold ‘fentanyl-laced heroin’ to actor and producer Michael K. Williams. Williams was an emmy-nominated actor and producer, best known for his roles in ‘The Wire’, ‘12 Years a Slave’, and ‘Boardwalk Empire’. Williams was found dead in September of 2021 in his New York City apartment. Shortly after his death, the NY Medical Examiner’s Office determined Williams’ cause of death to be an accidental overdose.
Manhattan’s elite school changes mascot to combat racism
In the past three years, Manhattan’s elite school, The Collegiate School, has been working on a new project to change the Dutchman as their official mascot. their previous motto was “Unless God, then in vain,” now changes to “Wisdom, Community, Kindness.” The Dutchman mascot was a representation of Peter Stuyvesant, the last Dutch director-general for the New Netherland colony until the English conquered the land, which is now the New York and New Jersey areas we see today. Some upper level staff in the school are conducting changes due to growing wokeism from parents to enhance diverse representation.
