Indiana Legislature First To Approve Abortion Bans Post-Roe
On Friday Indiana became the first state in the nation to approve abortion restrictions since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Republican Gov. President Joe Biden received a victory from the Supreme Court on Thursday, ruling that he can shut shown a Trump administration program called “Remain in Mexico,” which was designed to restrict immigration at the southern border. In a 5-4 ruling, the court claimed that “the Biden administration acted properly in seeming to end the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy.” The policy which is formally known as the Migrant Protection Protocols required people seeking asylum at the southern border to wait in Mexico while their claims were being decided.

President Biden Calls Overturning of Roe v. Wade a “Tragic Error”
President Joe Biden addressed the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday, condemning their ruling. The Supreme Court ruled to end constitutional protections for abortion rights, now opening the door for many states to impose strict restrictions and overall bans on abortions. It is the first time in at least 80 years that the court has overruled a fundamental constitution right, which Biden called “a realization of an extreme ideology and a tragic error”.

In 1973, Roe v. Wade established a woman’s constitutional right to have an abortion. On Friday, the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in a 6-3 decision, giving states the ability to establish their abortion laws and restrictions unless acted upon by Congress.
Supreme Court Blocks Texas Social Media Anti-Censorship Law
As of May 31st, the Supreme Court has blocked a law in Texas that proposed a ban on large social media companies from removing posts based on the expression of views. The order was brief and gave no reasons for the block as it was considered an emergency application. However, the case is pending a federal appeal and could return to the Supreme Court again.
