New York City has passed one of the mind-bending laws that requires employers to be clear about their pay in job advertisements. This will push better pay for women and people of color when looking for job opportunities. One restaurant worker said, “You’re put in a really challenging position of not wanting to upset your employer and not wanting to scare away an opportunity, but also wanting to fight for what you know is what you deserve.”

With Russia’s recent invasion in Ukraine Thursday morning, their actions are scaring away sponsorships for the future UEFA games. The 2022 UEFA game would be in St. Petersburg, Russia. European nations wanted to relocate the game in fear of the aftermath of the war, but the organizers of the Champion League have yet to make the relocation on the soccer tournament. UEFA is hoping that Russia would sooner head to peace because so many civilian lives are affected by the invasion.

Mason Greenwood, the striker for Manchester United, was recently arrested on suspicion of raping and assaulting a woman. It has also been reported that there were threats made by Greenwood to kill this woman. Allegations, along with pictures, were posted to the woman’s Instagram, but they have been deleted. Greenwood was released on bail on Wednesday. Due to the situation, Nike will no longer be sponsoring Greenwood.

On Monday, Coca Cola’s share value dropped from $56.17 to $55.22 because of the world renowned soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo’s seemingly minute gesture. At a press conference following the UEFA European Championships, Ronaldo set aside two bottles of Coca Cola and instead took a drink from a plastic water bottle, exclaiming “Agua!” meaning water in Spanish. Coca Cola bottles are typically kept on display during UEFA press conferences because Coca Cola is a major sponsor of the event.
